The USB power delivery technology (USB-PD) enables extreme charging speeds. However, in order to be able to charge particularly quickly, a specific charger is required in addition to a PD-capable cable. The hard drive dock has independent power buttons for each individual drive, so each hard drive can operate separately. This allows you to hot-swap a drive while data is being transferred, saving time.
With an additional SATA to IDE hard disk adapter (SAT2IDEADP), you can expand the functionality of the docking station and insert any 2.5 or 3.5 inch IDE hard disk in a SATA hard disk docking station.
Improved performance with UASP
UASP is supported in Windows 8, Mac OSX (10.8 or later), and Linux. In tests, UASP shows 70% higher read speed and 40% higher write speed compared to a conventional USB 3.0 at peak performance.
