UASP is supported on Windows® 8, Server 2012, and Linux Kernel 2.6.3 or later. In tests, UASP showed up to 70% higher read speed and 40% higher write speed compared to a traditional USB 3.0 at peak performance.
At the same peak, UASP also showed a 80% reduction in processor resource requirements in the test.
Test results were obtained using an Intel® Ivy Bridge system, 3.0 USB StarTech.com mezzanine cards, UASP-enabled StarTech.com-Gehäuse, and SATA III solid state drive.

The ECUSB3S22 2-port ExpressCard USB 3.0 card adds two SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports to an ExpressCard-enabled computer system. It uses a 34-mm form factor that fits in both 34 mm and 54 mm slots. The ports are arranged side by side to provide space for easy access.
Through its support of the USB Attached SCSI Protocol (UASP), this USB 3.0 controller in combination with a UASP-capable enclosure is up to 70% faster than a conventional USB 3.0 (note: UASP requires a compatible operating system). Using a more efficient protocol than the conventional USB BOT (Bulk-only Transport), UASP technology optimises transmissions by processing multiple commands simultaneously, significantly increasing transmission speed and reducing data transfer wait times.
