A magnetic sensor on the window sash monitors whether the window is open or closed and transmits this information via a thin cable to a built-in receiver fitted in the extractor hood housing.
ist.
With this setup, the fan motor can be controlled independently, so that the extractor hood lighting works independently of the switching status of the receiver. The system is equipped with an isolated changeover contact.
The control line is connected to the controller and the proximity switch. Ideal for retrofitting when the control line has already been laid!
With cable break protection
Application:
- For fixed, invisible installation of the receiver in the extractor fan housing
- Signal transmission via a thin, discreet cable (3 mm)
- The user must open the window to operate the extractor fan
- Allows the use of extractor fan hoods — lighting works even when the windows are closed
- No batteries required
Power supply: 230 V AC/50 Hz
Switching power: 3500 W/16 A, isolated
Functional area: -15°C/+40°C
Protection type: IP 20

When using the KDS 210 wired extractor hood controller, an extraction system can only be used when the window is open and the required supply of air can flow into the room. A contact system monitors the position of the window sash and sends the status to the controller.
Plug protection: prevents the extractor hood plug from being unplugged. Attach the magnetic contact to the window and route the cable. Plug the extractor system mains cable into the outlet. The extractor hood can only be used if the window is open.
Technical data:

The FeuV (Feuerungsverordnung — German fire precautions regulation) (§ 4, Installing heat-producing appliances) stipulates: If a heat-producing appliance dependent on ambient air (e.g. gas-fired boiler, a firewood stove) and an extractor fan (e.g. extractor hood) are operated simultaneously, it must be ensured in a place of residence/house that no carbon monoxide is extracted from the heat-producing appliance. As soon as an extractor system is switched on, a vacuum is created in a closed room. The pressure must only be equalised via the flow of fresh air from the outside and not via the heat-producing appliance.

The Cetrotec flue gas temperature monitor type 519 with 40°C switching point and 10 k resistor is approved for use in heat-generating systems and is mounted with a flange on a free piece of stove pipe with a diameter of at least 120 mm.
Its normally open contact is only intended for control tasks and has been bridged by us with a 10 kOhm cable breakage protection resistor, which is why this version of the temperature monitor is only suitable as an optional accessory for our KDS cable exhaust air control systems, in order to activate an exhaust air system when the stove is cold without having to open a window every time, provided the approval of the master chimney sweep is available, as an exhaust air control system in combination with an exhaust gas temperature monitor does not have DIBt approval.
- Approved for use in heat-generating systems, TÜV tested in accordance with DIN EN 14597_2012-09
- Intrinsically safe design, maintenance-free with simple installation on the flue pipe
- NO contact with pre-mounted 10k cable break protection resistor, especially for KDS 110 and 116
- Approved medium temperature 500°C, max. 180°C on cable and switch head
This flue gas temperature monitor refined by Elektrotechnik Schabus is specially designed for use with the KDS cable exhaust air control systems.
The KDS systems distinguish a deliberately open contact from a cable break with the help of a parallel-connected resistor of around 10 kOhm.
The window contact and exhaust gas temperature monitor are connected in series.
The negative state (window closed, oven burning) is produced by the closed contact, the positive state (window open or oven cold) causes the control line to become highly resistive.
It is therefore not always necessary to open a window to operate the extractor hood, even though the oven may only be in operation very rarely.
The pre-assembled 2 meter long temperature-resistant silicone cable can be extended with any 2-core cable if the heat range was reliably left during installation.
Possible applications
- Monitoring tasks to switch off the exhaust air system in rooms with open or closed fireplaces to prevent exhaust gases from being sucked back into the rooms when the fireplace is burning
- Other monitoring and control tasks, such as controlling the storage loading pump in conjunction with KDS devices
Note
Involve your chimney sweep in your planning before ordering so that nothing stands in the way of approval afterwards.
