A solar charger is supplied with energy via solar panels and then stores it in batteries. Using the latest and fastest technology, the SmartSolar maximizes this energy harvesting and intelligently directs it to fully charge the batteries in as little time as possible. The SmartSolar maintains the battery's functionality, extending its life.
The SmartSolar charge controller will even recharge a severely discharged battery. It can operate with a battery voltage as low as 0 volts, provided the cells are not permanently sulfated or otherwise damaged.
MPPT: Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking
By continuously monitoring the voltage and current output of your solar (PV) panels, MPPT technology ensures that all available energy is actually being drawn from the panels and stored. The benefit of this is most noticeable when the sky is partially overcast and the light intensity is constantly changing.
Remote monitoring and control
You can remotely control and monitor the extensive features of your SmartSolar MMPT charger by attaching a Bluetooth dongle and pairing it with your smartphone or other device via VictronConnect. If your system is connected to the Victron Remote Management Internet Portal (VRM), you have full access to your MPPT anytime, anywhere. Both services are available free of charge.
Load output
The 'Intelligent Load Output' function prevents damage caused by using ''dead'' batteries. You can configure the voltage at which the SmartSolar will disconnect a load - preventing excessive discharge of your batteries. And here's the kicker: the SmartSolar will attempt to recharge the battery to 100% every day. If this is not possible - e.g. in bad weather - it raises the disconnect voltage value every day until it is successful.

Voltage sensor and temperature sensor for MPPT charging regulator
The wireless battery sensor measures the voltage and temperature of the battery. This data improves the charging efficiency of the MPPT charging regulator.
The latest charging technologies, combined with a significantly improved Steca-AtonIC state-of-charge determination result in optimum battery maintenance and control of the module output of up to 900 Wp which can be connected. A large display informs the user about all operating modes with the help of symbols. The state of charge is represented visually in the form of a tank display. Data such as voltage, current, and charge can also be displayed digitally as figures on the display. In addition, the controller has an energy meter that can be reset by the user.

The Battery protect is a unidirectional device. It only allows current in one direction, i.e. either current to a consumer or with current from a charger, but not both currents at the same time. In addition, the current can only flow from the battery connection to the consumer connection. When used with a consumer, the battery must be connected to the battery connection, when used with a charger, the charger must be connected to the battery connection.

Technical highlights of the Blue Smart IP65 12/25(1)battery charger:
- easy configuration and setup of the Blue Smart IP65 12/25(1) via Bluetooth® interface
- max. 25A charging current, suitable for all 12V battery types
- solid protection against splash water. dust and chemicals thanks to IP65 protection
- has several functions to extend battery life
- automatic temperature adjustment at low, respectively high temperatures
- automatic power supply function
- 7-step intelligent charging algorithm
- can recover completely discharged batteries ''dead batteries
- has low energy mode for charging small batteries
- lithium-ion battery mode
With up to 95% efficiency, these chargers generate three to four times less heat than the industry standard. And, after the battery is fully charged, power consumption is reduced to 0.5 watts, five to ten times better than the industry standard.
Durable, safe and quiet
- low heat load on electronic components
- protected against ingress of dust, water and chemicals.
- protection against overheating: the output current is linearly reduced when the temperature rises up to 60°C, so the charger will not fail even in extreme temperatures
- the chargers are absolutely silent thanks to passive cooling: no fan or other moving parts
Reconditioning (recovery)
A lead-acid battery that has not been sufficiently charged or has been left in a discharged state for days or weeks will deteriorate in performance due to sulfation. Provided the process is stopped in time, it allows the sulfation to be partially reversed by charging the battery at low current until a higher voltage is reached.
Restoring fully discharged batteries
Most chargers with reverse battery protection will not recognize a battery that has been discharged to zero volts or near zero volts, and therefore will not recharge it. However, the Blue Power charger will attempt to recharge a fully discharged battery with low current and will resume normal charging after sufficient voltage has been established across the battery terminals.
Scope of delivery:
- 1x Victron BPC122531064 Blue Smart IP65 12/25(1)230V battery charger for 12V batteries
- 1x user manual

- 20 a maximum charging current
- 3 Battery Charging Outputs
- State-of-the-art, seven-stage charging algorithm
- With integrated Bluetooth for use with the free VictorConnect app
Intelligent charging, up to the perfect battery condition
The seven-stage charging algorithm gets the most out of your battery. The charger provides the battery with the energy it needs, keeps it in a healthy state, ensures better performance... and a longer life.
Recovery of deep-discharged ''dead'' batteries
Unlike most other brands and product lines, the Blue Smart IP22 charger will try to recharge a low-discharge battery by forcing it to have a low-charge current. Normal charging will then resume as soon as there is sufficient voltage between the battery terminals.
Remotely check battery status using the VictorConnect app
The Blue Smart charger has built-in Bluetooth. This allows you to check the status of the charger and battery on a smartphone, tablet or laptop. All settings of the charger can be configured with the VictorConnect app.
Trend-setting efficiency
With an efficiency of up to 94%, these chargers generate up to four times less heat compared to the industry standard. After the battery has also been fully charged, the power consumption drops to less than 0.5 watts, which is about five to ten times better than the industry standard.
Storage mode: Less maintenance and aging when the battery is at rest
Storage mode is activated whenever no discharge has occurred within 24 hours. The charge maintenance voltage is then reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for a 12 V battery) to minimize the gas development and thus prevent corrosion on the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is increased to the level of the gas voltage. This provides a kind of equalizing charge that prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation, the two main causes of premature battery failure.
The interface enables you to use a whole range of Victron programs to configure and analyze your Victron product. The easiest way to configure complex systems or single devices to your needs. The following free programs can be used with the help of the interface:

Different charging levels of batteries that have been connected in series or in parallel can lead to overcharging. This significantly shortens the life of the batteries.
The battery balancer compensates for the charge level of 2 batteries connected in series (24 V system). The charge level compensator can also be used for several parallel lines of batteries connected in series
If necessary, several balancers can be connected in parallel.
The balancer can also be used for a 48 V system. In this case, you will need three battery balancers.
The balancer has several LED indicators to control your battery system:
- Green: on (battery voltage > 27.3 V)
- Orange: lower battery circuit active (deviation > 0.1 V)
- Orange: upper battery circuit active (deviation > 0.1 V)
- Red: alarm (deviation > 0.2V) The display remains until the deviation drops below 0.14 V or until the voltage drops below 26.6 V.

The Victron Blue Power charger is a very efficient high frequency charger with a wide range of functions. It is suitable for batteries with a capacity of 20 to 70 Ah. The device measures the ambient temperature during the test phase and balances the temperature during charging. The temperature is measured again when the charger is in low current mode, in low voltage mode or in storage mode. Therefore, no special settings are required for a cold or hot environment. There is a low-energy mode for small batteries. It is also possible to charge lithium-ion batteries with this charger. After the battery is charged, the power consumption of the battery charger is reduced to 0.5 watts.
For example, the BlueSolar controller and the MPPT Control remote control panel.
The following connections can be established to it:
