Dual J-K Negative-Edge-Triggered Flip-Flops With Clear and Preset
Description:
The 'HC112 devices contain two independent J-K negative-edge-triggered flip-flops. A low level at the preset (PRE) or clear (CLR) inputs sets or resets the outputs, regardless of the levels of the other inputs. When PRE and CLR are inactive (high), data at the J and K inputs meeting the setup time requirements are transferred to the outputs on the negative-going edge of the clock (CLK) pulse. Clock triggering occurs at a voltage level and is not directly related to the fall time of the CLK pulse. Following the hold-time interval, data at the J and K inputs may be changed without affecting the levels at the outputs. These versatile flip-flops perform as toggle flip-flops by tying J and K high.
Features:
• Wide Operating Voltage Range of 2 V to 6 V
• Outputs Can Drive Up To 10 LSTTL Loads
• Low Power Consumption, 40-µA Max ICC
• Typical tpd = 13 ns
• ±4-mA Output Drive at 5 V
• Low Input Current of 1 µA Max
These monolithic, positive-edge-triggered flipflops utilize TTL circuitry to implement D-type flip-flop logic with a direct clear input. Information at the D inputs meeting the setup time requirements is transferred to the Q outputs on the positive-going edge of the clock pulse. Clock triggering occurs at a particular voltage level and is not directly related to the transition time of the positive-going pulse. When the clock input is at either the high or low level, the D input signal has no effect ar the output. These flip-flops are guaranteed to respond to clock frequencies ranging form 0 to 30 megahertz while maximum clock frequency is typically 40 megahertz. Typical power dissipation is 39 milliwatts per flip-flop for the '273 and 10 milliwatts for the 'LS273.
All of these counters have a gate-controlled zero reset and the '90A and 'LS90 also have gate-controlled set-to-nine inputs for use in BCD nine complement applications.
Technical features
- High Speed (tpd 10-50ns)
- Input type Bipolar
- Output type push-pull
These devices are positive-edge-triggered octal Dtype flip-flops with an enable input. The 'HC377 devices are similar to the 'HC273 devices, but feature a latched clock-enable (CLKEN) input instead of a common clear.
The '73 AND 'H73, contain two independent J-K flip-flops with individual J-K, clock, and direct clear inputs. The '73, and 'H73, are positive pulse-triggered flip-flops. J-K input is loaded into the master while the clock is high-to-low transition. For these devices the J and K inputs must be stable while the clock is high.
