The UAV RFD 868x is a very modern telemetry set for data transmission with a transmission power of 0.5 W. Distances of over 40 km are therefore possible. Field testing showed that data was successfully transmitted over a distance greater than 57 km. The implemented firmware is an open-source development environment called ''SIK''. It is based on a 32-bit ARM processor and can be configured using the provided FTDI converter. In addition, an optional adapter cable can be purchased that connects the RFD Telemetry Modem to a Pixhawk 2.1 flight controller.
