The CLOU is a slim 2-way floorstanding speaker whose appeal lies clearly in its price/performance ratio, which is underlined by the two WS 17 E 8 Ohm for low to mid frequencies and the SC 10 N 8 Ohm for the high frequencies. In order to ensure a balanced sound image even with these inexpensive drivers, the two mid-bass drivers were spatially separated from each other and each assigned its own closed volume. The lower WS 17 E 8 Ohm plays in a 36 l housing. This results in an even increase of the frequency response from 60 Hz up to 600 Hz. The upper WS 17 E 8 Ohm, on the other hand, has to manage with a volume of 16 l, which results in a slight increase of the frequency range between 60 Hz and 150 Hz. All in all, the two mid-bass drivers add up to a harmonic bass foundation with a targeted emphasis on frequencies from 60 to 130 Hz. In order to connect the tweeter seamlessly to the bass speakers, a correctly dimensioned wave trap is required that smoothes unwanted peaks and resonances.The result of this unusual chassis and cabinet combination is a floorstanding speaker that is absolutely worth seeing and listening to, and which operates far beyond its price range in terms of sound quality.
