The 24AA65/24LC65/24C65 (24XX65)* from Microchip Technology Inc. is an ''intelligent'' 8K x 8 serial, electrically erasable PROM.Designed for advanced low-power applications such as personal communications, this device offers the system designer great flexibility by using many new features that can be programmed by the user. The 24XX65 has a sliding 4K-bit block with ultra-high-power memory for data that changes frequently. The rest of the array, i.e. 60K bits, is designed for 1,000,000 guaranteed erase/write (E/W) cycles. The 24XX65 has an input cache for fast writes with a capacity of eight pages or 64 bytes.
It also provides programmable security options for E/W protection of critical data and/or codes of up to fifteen 4K blocks. Functional address lines allow up to eight 24XX65 to be connected to the same bus for up to 512K-bit contiguous EEPROM memory.
