Homematic IP Smart Home radiator thermostat - basic

Automatic and convenient control of the room temperature by heating according to demand

The Homematic IP radiator thermostat - basic is part of the Homematic IP smart home system and actively helps to save energy. The smart controller replaces conventional radiator thermostats, allowing energy savings of up to 30 %.

The thermostat is mounted on the radiator without interfering with the heating system and without tools. Power is supplied by two AA batteries, which can provide energy for about 2 years. The radiator thermostat is ready for immediate use thanks to a preset heating profile - this can be manually adjusted at any time if required. Individual temperature profiles with up to 13 changes are possible per day. In this way, Homematic IP only heats certain rooms when there is a real need.

Setup can be done flexibly on the device itself, via the Homematic IP app (in conjunction with the Homematic IP Access Point) or via a browser-based interface (in conjunction with a CCU3 central controller).

Via the app, the radiator thermostat can be integrated into a comprehensive smart home system. For example, the cloud solution allows the temperature to be set at any time from any location. Those who prefer to know the data locally in the home network, but still want to benefit from the advantages of a smart home system, can resort to the setup via the central CCU3.

Stand-alone operation (push-to-pair):
  • Manual operation and configuration possible directly on the device, e.g. setting the heating profile, vacation mode, temperature changes and triggering the boost function
  • Direct teach-in of up to eight window and door contacts with magnet (HmIP-SWDM) for automatic lowering of the room temperature during ventilation

In the Smart Home with the Homematic IP Access Point or the CCU3 central controller:
  • Configuration and control via the free Homematic IP smartphone app or the local user interface WebUI.
  • Combination with a wide range of Homematic IP devices for extended functionality

Replaces conventional thermostats and regulates the room temperature according to individual requirements.

The Homematic IP Radiator Thermostat is part of the Homematic IP smart home system and actively helps to save energy. The smart controller replaces existing radiator thermostats, allowing energy savings of up to 30 % to be achieved.

The Homematic IP radiator thermostat can be easily fitted to existing valves with an M30 thread (e.g. Heimeier) using a metal union nut without interfering with the heating system. Suitable adapters are supplied for mounting systems from the manufacturer Danfoss. The power supply is provided by two AA batteries, which can supply power for up to 2 years.

Once set up, the desired room temperature can be set either directly on the radiator thermostat, via the Homematic IP wall thermostat or via the Homematic IP app. The app can be used to define up to three weekly profiles with a maximum of six heating phases per day at room level. The system becomes really smart when used in conjunction with the Homematic IP window and door contact. If this detects an open window, the Homematic IP Radiator Thermostat automatically reduces the hot water supply to the radiators. When the window is closed again, the radiator also resumes its work. This helps to save energy, increases living comfort and protects the environment. By creating weekly profiles, you can automate everyday life - for example, you can enjoy a preheated bathroom in the morning, save valuable heating energy when you are away and enjoy your evening in the living room at the desired room temperature.

Thanks to the particularly quiet drive, the Homematic IP Radiator Thermostat can also be used in the children's room or bedroom without any problems. The built-in automatic limescale and frost protection prevents the valve from calcifying and freezing.

Tip: If several radiator thermostats are used in a room at the same time, they can be operated centrally via the Homematic IP app or particularly conveniently via Homematic IP wall thermostats.

  • Up to three adjustable weekly profiles: The room temperature can be regulated time-controlled (up to 6 heating phases per day with individually adjustable temperature)
  • in conjunction with the Homematic IP window and door contact - the temperature is automatically lowered optically as soon as a window is opened
  • the metal nut ensures a tight fit on all standard radiators
  • Simple installation without draining water or interfering with the heating system

HOMEMATIC IP HMIP SWDO-A - Window and door contact optical, anthracite HOMEMATIC IP HMIP SWDO-A - Window and door contact optical, anthracite 51.24 EUR Homematic IP window and door contact - optical, anthracite

Detects opening and closing of windows and enables automatic lowering of heating

The Homematic IP window and door contact is part of the Homematic IP smart home system and reliably monitors doors and windows.
For this purpose, the innovative sensor does not rely on the usual magnetic contacts, but on a sophisticated optical sensor.
This eliminates the need for the otherwise additionally required magnet, which reduces the installation effort.
The built-in infrared photoelectric sensor monitors the door or window and thus detects the open/closed state.

In the Homematic IP system, the small sensor performs several tasks at once.
On the one hand, it ensures that the heat supply is automatically reduced during ventilation by informing the Homematic IP radiator thermostat as soon as a window or an external door is opened.
A particularly practical feature here is the option of defining a message delay for doors that are used several times a day, in order to avoid constant opening and closing of the radiator valves.
On the other hand, the sensor reliably monitors access to one's own four walls in the event of absence. When the alarm mode is activated, the Homematic IP siren can be activated in the event of an unauthorized window opening.
The app also sends an alert message to the user in the form of a push notification.
This gives the user the opportunity to react promptly to the dangerous situation.

The small sensor, which weighs 30 grams, works so effectively that it can run for around two years on the power of one AAA battery.
If the battery capacity runs low, the Homematic IP app notifies the user. The low sensor weight allows reliable attachment via double-sided adhesive tape.
This is supplied together with an additional brown cover cap and a reflector foil.
If the window or door material does not allow mounting with adhesive tape, the two tiny screws supplied can be used.

  • ensures that the room temperature is lowered during ventilation, e.g. in conjunction with the Homematic IP radiator thermostat
  • integrated infrared light barrier detects opening and closing of windows
  • flexible mounting with included adhesive strips or screws
  • white and brown housing caps for individual adaptation to window frames
