The commercial carbon dioxide (CO2) sensor CRIR M1 is a single channel, non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensor. Inside the CRIR M1 is a measurement chamber with an infrared source at one end and a detector with an optical filter at the other. The source emits radiation at wavelengths that include the absorption band of CO2. The filter blocks wavelengths that are not sensitive to the presence of CO2, increasing selectivity and sensitivity. The MQ9 breakout board detects carbon monoxide, methane, propane and other flammable gases so that the right measures can be taken in good time. The sensor detects carbon monoxide at 10-1000 ppm and other combustible gases at 100-10000 ppm.The digital and analog outputs are located on the vias, marked DO and AO. The digital output can be obtained by setting a threshold value with a potentiometer. The analog output depends on the intensity of the gases.

Instructions for use
- the sensor requires 48 hours to preheat to the optimum operating temperature. If it detects gas, the LED lights up. If no gases are present, it remains switched off.
- Highly corrosive gases considerably weaken the sensor.
