"LED backlight
Simply linking the display and lighting opens up a wide range of combinations.
Note
Some displays require an additional backlight, such as transmissive displays, which include negative mode displays. On the other hand, other displays can be operated with a backlight but it is not essential, such as transflective displays. Positive mode displays can be transmissive or transflective. The reflective displays do not need lighting.
Reflective: reflective displays are operated without an additional backlight, as these reflect the incident light.
Transmissive: transmissive displays are translucent and therefore require an additional backlight.
Transflective: transflective displays are both reflective and transmissive, i.e. they can be operated both with and without a backlight.
Positive: the font colour is always black and the background is light (non-illuminated) on positive mode displays. With this display, the background can also be illuminated with a corresponding white or colour backlight.
Negative: negative mode displays require an additional backlight as this is responsible for the font colour. The background itself is black or blue, depending on the model.
For a better understanding of the differences, you can download a corresponding simulator program from the ""Datasheets & Downloads"" section, and use the program to simulate the display with and without a backlight."
Delivery Cost: 9.95 EUR

Suitable light set for the LCD module DOGM204
Suitable light set for the LCD module DOGM240
3-colour LED lighting fixture for EA DOGM240-6 in green, red and white.
Supply voltage 2.1V (red) or 3V (green and white) e.g. via external series resistor.
The colour is set via 3 separate LED paths.
Together with an external PWM control, mixed colors can also be displayed.
ASSEMBLY / PROCESSING INSTRUCTIONS:
First the display and the respective lighting fixture are plugged together. Then the entire unit is simply inserted into a circuit board and soldered there. Please note that the 6 pins for the lighting must also be soldered from above.
Attention:
- The surfaces of the displays and lights are protected from scratching by self-adhesive protective films. There are 2 protective foils on the display (top and bottom) and one protective foil each on the lighting. These 3 protective films must be removed.
- LC displays are generally not suitable for wave or reflow soldering. Temperatures above 80°C can cause permanent damage.
- Neither the display nor the lighting must come into contact with liquids of any kind (no fluxer, cleaner, water).
Crisp IPS displays in any size
The small color displays from DISPLAY VISIONS are the ideal replacement for monochrome displays. They impress with rich colors, strong contrasts, and are extraordinarily viewing angle stable.
With the EA TFT series DISPLAY VISIONS offers a series of small IPS color displays, which are also ideally suited as a replacement for monochrome graphic displays. With IPS technology, the light-conducting liquid crystals are arranged parallel to the image plane. Due to this special arrangement, colors and contrasts remain brilliant and stable even at changing viewing angles. The graphic displays can therefore be installed both in portrait and landscape format without any loss of legibility. With maximum brightness levels of up to 1,000 cd/m², the displays are still clearly legible even in direct sunlight.
Special features
- long-term available industrial quality
- the wide operating temperature range extends from -20..+70°C
- white LED illumination integrated
- optional this type is also available with touch panel
Multifunctional control unit 5"" TFT with touch panel and object based display: Move objects directly at any time, change measured values while they are displayed, automatically zoom in on important parameters, gently fade in and out control elements.
Easiest creation of screens via uniSKETCH.
All imaginable objects can be placed, moved and deleted at will. Fonts can be zoomed and rotated without loss, custom Windows character sets are stored directly in the display. Thanks to automatic ASCII and Unicode switching, a wide variety of systems are flexibly supported, including Chinese characters.
Elegant effects for fading in and out or flying in are already integrated. Stylesheets can be used to create uniform designs throughout. Images can be embedded as JPEG, PNG or SVG (also transparent), sound can be played as MP3. Together with the integrated battery-buffered time base, events can be documented together with a time stamp, or processes can be controlled completely autonomously."
With capacitive touch panel and therefore ideal as operating unit. Various other interfaces such as RS-232, SPI and I²C bus. Digital and analog I/O's. Wide temperature range from -40 up to +80°C and fast display (typ. 10µs also at -40°C).
The display offers an extremely wide viewing angle of about 170°. Simple installation: glue horizontally or vertically into the front panel opening from the front.

As accessories we offer a suitable capacitive touch panel (PCAP). It already has a controller (GT5663) with integrated I²C bus. The coordinates are directly available in 102x64 resolution. The INT line indicates whether data is ready for retrieval. The I²C bus address is 0xBA (0x5D). For the connection we recommend a zero force plug with 1 mm pitch, e.g. EA WF100-06S.
Further information/data on page 8 of the data sheet.
Intelligent 4.3"" TFT 480 x 272 pixels, with PCAP and white LED illumination (external dimensions: 114 x 84 mm)
Miniature touch panel (PCAP) 4.3"" TFT with graphic functions, memory and touch panel support. Programmable as stand-alone with inputs and outputs. With USB, RS-232, I²C and SPI. Move objects on the display, change measured values while they are displayed, automatically zoom in on important parameters, smoothly fade controls in and out.
The EA uniTFTs series with its integrated command set enables sophisticated graphical display and intuitive menu control. Thanks to the integrated instruction set and the Windows design software uniTFTDesigner, not only electronics specialists but also e.g. design and user guidance experts can create the entire HMI.
The display modules are immediately ready for operation with 3.3 V, and are controlled via the built-in serial interfaces RS232, SPI, I²C or USB. The modules can also be powered directly via USB.
Due to the object-oriented ""programming"", the extensive instruction set and the already integrated Unicode fonts, which can be extended at any time, ""time-to-market"" becomes a piece of cake.
The EA uniTFT series offers a very similar instruction set, which forms the high-end market with larger modules:
Properties:
- 4,3"" 480x272
- AACS display (all angle color stability, optimized illumination and TFT panel over the entire viewing angle)
- Optically bonded capacitive touch (PCAP), super bright with more than 800 cd/m²
