The 4-port PCI Express 2.0 SATA controller card PEXSAT34RH with HyperDuo adds 4 AHCI SATA III ports to a computer through a PCIe slot (x2). This provides multiple internal 6 Gb/s connections with high-performance hard drives and solid state drives (SSDs).
The SATA card provides SSD auto-tiering with HyperDuo technology to balance the performance benefits of SSD storage with the low cost and large capacity of standard hard drives. By combining SSD and HDD drives into a single disk (up to 3 SSD + 1 HDD), HyperDuo can discreetly discover frequently accessed files in the background and move them to the faster SSD drives, increasing data throughput by up to 80% of the performance of SSD drives. (Note: The HyperDuo Storage Tiering automatic feature is compatible with computers that use a BIOS.)
The PCIe SATA controller card supports Port Multiplier (PM), which allows multiple SATA drives to be connected to a single port using a single cable - for a total of 7 drives (up to 4 drives via PM on one port and a single drive on each of the remaining 3 ports). In addition, the SATA controller card provides an effective hardware RAID solution with native RAID (0, 1, 1+0) support.
